DAY ONE TO CUMMINS - DAY TWO TO RAIN!     

Putnamville, IN - July 5, 2019 -  Kyle Cummins took a major step in the effort to capture the Mid Season Championship for the BRANDEIS Midwest Sprint Car Series.  Cummins won the 30 lap feature held Friday night to conclude Day One of the Bill Gardner Sprintacular at Lincoln Park Speedway.  He took home $3,000 and earned an another 75 series points. 

 

     The Princeton, IN, driver kept the Rock Steady Racing sprint car in front of the pack throughout the main event.  Meanwhile a battle for second and the other top five spots was waged behind him.  Fans observed as drivers competed in close side by side racing.

 

     Shane Cottle drove the Tony Epperson sprint car to a second place finish.  Jordan Kinser was third giving him a podium finish for the second night in a row.  Brady Short was fourth.  Thomas Meseraull finished fifth.  Dakota Jackson led a second five to the finish line followed by fast qualifier Max Adams, veteran Bill Rose, Shane Cockrum, and Koby Barksdale.  

 

    The $100 check for Certified Rental Hard Charger of the Race went to Koby Barksdale who started 20th and improved 10 spots.  The Wilwood Tuff Brakes Award was presented to Garrett Aitken who just missed a top ten finish.

 

     The B Main winner was Harley Burns.  Burns finished in front of Donny Brackett, Garrett Aitken and 17 other contestants for the last 5 transfer spots to the main.  Thirty-seven cars total were entered into competition for the first night of the two day show.   Five other preliminary racing events were held.  These heats were winning runs for Travis Berryhill, Shane Cottle, Kyle Cummins, Jordan Kinser, and Dakota Jackson.  Rod End Supply serves as a contingency sponsor for the  MSCS heat races.

 

     DAY TWO  

     Thirty-three drivers were present to race again at Lincoln Park Speedway on

 Saturday night.  That would  prove to be a losing battle against Mother Nature.  It rained

 just after three in the  afternoon.  The track crew went to work.  There was a necessary

 delay before hot laps started.  After group qualifying was completed another storm

 moved over the facility and the program was rained out.  Day Two of the Bill Gardner

 Sprintacular could not be completed.
