Terre Haute, IN - July 10, 2019 - Sprint Car competitor Nick Bilbee won the RUMBLE AT THE FAIR Wednesday night at the Terre Haute Action Track.  The mid- week special event was sanctioned by the BRANDEIS Midwest Sprint Car Series and held as an attraction during the Vigo County Fair.

Bilbee started fifth in the field of cars that was set for the feature during two heat races.  The Indianapolis driver took the lead in the feature on lap 10.  Pole sitter Landon Simon had lead the first lap.  Then Mitch Wissmiller moved into the lead and held it the next 8 laps before mechanical issues caused hin to drop out of the race.  Bilbee continued to lead with Max Adams of Loomis, CA, finishing second.  Landon Simon claimed third.  Dakota Jackson and Chase Stockon rounded out the top five.

The Feature victory was the first for Nick Bilbee in the MSCS series   He became the 65th different driver to add his name to the series ALL TIME FEATURE WINNER LIST.  Bilbee was driving Bilbee Motorsports DRC sponsored by Bilbees RV Service and Apple Metal Polishing.  The car is owned by Dallas Bilbee.

Bilbee’s move to the front included just enough passes to merit him receiving the Certified Rentals Hard Charger of the Race Award.  That added another $100 to his $3,000 victory check.

The second five at the finish of the feature included Isaac Chapple in sixth place to be followed by Aric Gentry, James Lyerla, Brandon Mattox, and Stephen Schnapf.  Collin Ambrose received the Wilwood Tuff Brakes Award for his eleventh place finish.

In prelimnary action the two heat races were swift victories for Dakota Jackson and Nick Bilbee.  Jackson started on the pole and held off group one fast qualifier Max Adams.  Nick Bilbee won the second heat from a fourth starting spot.  Bilbee was also the fastest qualifier in the second group which then started a perfect night at the races.

On the awards scene, Kyle Cummins was recognized as the BRANDEIS Mid-Season Champion and received $1,500 in cash at a presentation  prior to the MSCS heat races.  Dakota Jackson was also present and received a check for third place in points.  Runner-up Brady Short could not be present.  A rain-out on June 6th had caused the presentation to be delayed.

The BRANDEIS MSCS Sprint Cars will return to Terre Haute on Sunday August 11th.  Next up for the series will be an appearance at Tri-State Speedway at Haubstadt, IN, on Saturday July 13th.  The 25 lap feature that night will pay $2,500 to win.  Racing for the SPRINT STAMPEDE will begin at 7:30 P.M.
