LAWRENCEBURG MSCS FINAL IS THE VICTUM OF RAIN

(Lawrenceburg, IN - October 3)  The City of Lawrenceburg Fall Nationals scheduled to be held Saturday night October 2nd as the season finale for the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series was cancelled.  The decision was made Saturday afternoon and announced to early arrivals in the pit area about 3:30 when the pit gates were to have opened.  The sky had opened instead and a steady rain with more forecast for the evening prompted the decision to cancel.

A fifth annual Lawrenceburg Fall Nationals will not be held this year.  There was no prior arrangement for a make-up date for the event.  The fairgrounds on which the track is located was reserved for other use the next day.  Ensuing weeks in October with the season rapidly coming to a close did not offer a plausible date that this particular event could be rescheduled.

Discussion of and consideration of an option to add a race to conclude the MSCS 2010 season other than with the $10,000 to Win Fall Nationals did not meet all the goals the series had in place in creating the original master schedule.  The season was projected to end on October 2nd.  Thus the 2010 MSCS season ended in the rain October 2nd.  Weather has a way of affecting all outdoor sports.  Sometimes rain is a problem during the season as in 2009.  This time rain intervened at the very last race of the season.
